Guides for the Swiss paperwork

Short, practical notes on QR-bills, VAT and setting up your workspace. They are not tax advice.

Getting started

Create an account with your work email, add the company and its currency, then choose a plan. The link from this website already carries the plan you picked.

Swiss QR-bills

A QR-bill is the payment part of a Swiss invoice. It carries the amount, the account (IBAN) and a reference, so the customer's bank app can pay exactly what you asked for.

Sqreeb places that slip on the invoice. When the payment appears in an imported bank statement, the reference helps match it to the right document.

Swiss VAT

If the company is VAT-registered, record the rate on the invoices and expenses you enter. The VAT area gathers turnover tax and input tax for each period, so the return is not a separate spreadsheet.

Choose the settlement method (effective rate or net tax rate), the basis (invoice date or payment date) and how often you file: monthly, quarterly or half-yearly.

These guides describe how Sqreeb works. For decisions about your tax position, ask your fiduciary or the ESTV.
